VETO Release New Single “A Pit” from Upcoming Album “16 Colors”

VETO released another single from their upcoming album “16 Colors,” to be released on February 9. Check out the song below:

The band had this to say about the song and the album:

“‘A Pit’ circles the psychological problem around one only having symbols available to understand – experiencing a sort of alienation against the world, as a result. There is a reality that we cannot reach which is outside of our language, our symbols. We can’t get a pure reprieve from the constant stream of news that floods us daily. Could it be that the stream alters to ‘fit’ us? Or do we involuntarily see all impressions through a prism that transforms to our symbols, languages and interpretations?

We began recording ’16 Colors’ in 2014, after taking a year off from a hectic tour schedule that had kept us on the road since 2011. We had to retrieve our drive, and creativity demanded both time and space in order to flourish once more. This saw us parting ways with our record label and business partners, and granted us with a calmer, freer approach to the creative process. We worked alongside producer Mikkel Bolding over a two-year period, influencing our sound by introducing us to the world of analogue recording.”

When We Met’s Latest Music Video for “Ride the Tide”

Portland native duo When We Met released their psychedelic new music video for their latest single “Ride the Tide” off the recently released album “Where Did They Come From.” Check out the video here:

The video was created by cartoonist Magnificent Kaaboom, who brought to life the song’s ocean-themed lyrics with visuals that showcase a unique art style complete with retro animation. Right from the get-go, the video literally grabs you in as a hand pops out from a book and drags the viewer into a wacky world full of surfing cavemen and globetrotting aliens. The duo is backed on this occasion by a robot drummer, which somehow brings it all together. If you’re looking for a dream world to escape to with a new wave, indie rock soundtrack, look no further than When We Met’s latest video “Ride the Tide.”

YOURFRENDS Debut Video Sends Strong Message

YOURFRENDS have recently their first official video for their song “Chicago Kid” from their upcoming project titled “Just Mondays.” Check out the song below:

Directed by K Shack, the video shows off the YOURFREDS members in the city streets bringing to light the hardships that everyday Chicago kids must face growing up. The violence in the urban landscape is an uneasy and dangerous place and the song shows of the group’s ability to raise awareness important issues about their roots. Just as there’s no “I” in team, there’s no “I” in YOURFRENDS, and the group is working together to create art as a holistic team.

The Sounds of Ghosts’ New Single “Train to Nowhere” is a Fiddle-Romping Hoot

Americana roots band The Sound of Ghosts released a new single titled “Train To Nowhere” that exemplifies the bands signature style of fiddle-fueled melodies, soaring harmonies and story-telling lyricism from their upcoming release “Delivery and Departure.” Check out the song below:

The Sound of Ghosts are an Americana roots musical collective hailing from Los Angeles, California. The five-piece collective of musicians have crafted a musical experience with unique arrangements and vast variety of influences. A culmination of traditional front porch Americana, folk-laden melodies and vintage rock ’n’ roll, The Sound of Ghosts have succeeded in bringing their own edge to this timeless genre of music. Comprised of James Orbison (vocals, bass), Anna Orbison (vocals, ukulele), Ernesto Rivas (lead guitar), Phoebe Silva (fiddle) and Jon Sarna (drums), they have united to push the boundaries of typical Americana and created an evolving sound demonstrating the diversity of each of their own different musical backgrounds. Included in this are elements of classic rock, musical theatre, country and everything in between.

The Sound of Ghosts formed in memory of the band’s friend Dave Lamb, who passed away too soon from Leukaemia. Lamb headed an acclaimed band Brown Bird with his wife that was named NPR’s folk group of the year. James Orbison was touched and inspired by the impact Lamb had made on not only him, but the community around him. James Orbison fell back into music as a mechanism to cope with his grief, where he consequently rediscovered his passion for writing and playing again. They decided to name their band The Sound of Ghosts, which was the title of Brown Bird’s first album, as a way to honor Lamb and to be constant reminder of his love for music.

The new music is set to be an immersive listening experience and is filled with diverse soundscapes and a multitude of sonic textures. Lead single “Train to Nowhere” is an upbeat folky song with driving guitars and catchy hooks that showcase the band’s signature sound. Accompanied by a powerful trumpet solo, it is assured to get listeners up and dancing. The narrative was built around the ideology of escapism and the importance of adventure. The song symbolizes the journey of self-discovery and introspection.

The Sound of Ghosts have opened for artists such as Big Bad Voodoo Daddy, The Sisterhood and Oingo Boingo. Their music has also been featured in national commercials for major brands such as Yahoo! and Kia. The Sound of Ghosts also won ‘best live performance’ at The Roswell Film Festival. With their growing California following and authentic sound, The Sound of Ghosts are ready for their next musical endeavor with the release of “Delivery and Departure” due fall 2017.
